LOS ANGELES, CA –- The Critics’ Choice Association (CCA) has announced the recipients of the 5th annual Critics’ Choice Super Awards, honoring the best in popular and fan favorites across film and television. The awards recognize superheroes, sci-fi/fantasy, horror, and action content.
Television’s “The Penguin” dominated the ceremony, securing wins in all four of its nominated categories, including Best Superhero Series, Limited Series, or Made-For-TV Movie. Colin Farrell was recognized for his outstanding performance, earning Best Actor in a Superhero Series, Limited Series, or Made-For-TV Movie, as well as Best Villain in a Series, Limited Series, or Made-For-TV Movie. Cristin Milioti took home the award for Best Actress in a Superhero Series, Limited Series, or Made-For-TV Movie for her role in “The Penguin”.
In film, “Deadpool & Wolverine,” “Dune: Part Two,” “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” and “Sinners” each earned two awards. “Deadpool & Wolverine” was crowned Best Superhero Movie, with Hugh Jackman winning Best Actor in a Superhero Movie. “Dune: Part Two” received the title of Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie, and Timothée Chalamet was honored as Best Actor in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie. Tom Cruise won Best Actor in an Action Movie for “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” which also won Best Action Movie. For horror, “Sinners” won Best Horror Movie, and Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor in a Horror Movie.
