LOS ANGELES, CA – The original King of Reggaeton is back!  On October 30, Daddy Yankee dropped his highly anticipated 13th studio album, La Postal. The album’s lead single, “BOTZ (Bésame Otra Vez),” released Oct. 9, was co-produced by Yankee’s son, Jeremy Ayala, alongside L.e.x.v.z., DUP, and Xound.

La Postal will feature 15 songs about love in all its multifaceted forms and features Cardi B, Myke Towers, and others. The announcement comes a year after Yankee released Lamento en Baile, his 2025 Christian album.

Yankee had previously announced his retirement from music in 2023, after three decades in the industry. He first appeared on the song “So’ Persigueme, No Te Detengas” from DJ Playero’s 1992 mixtape Playero 34.

He released his debut album, No Mercy, in 1995. His breakthrough came in 2004 with Barrio Fino, which spawned hits including “Gasolina” and “Lo Que Pasó, Pasó.”

Recognized as one of reggaeton’s pioneering voices, Yankee has also helped propel the genre to mainstream audiences through collaborations with artists such as Justin Bieber, Janet Jackson, Snoop Dogg, Snow, and others.

In 2017, Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi released “Despacito.” The remix featuring Justin Bieber topped the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart for 16 consecutive weeks and became the first Spanish-language song to reach No. 1 since “Macarena” in 1996.

With dozens of awards and accolades under his belt, Daddy Yankee is set to receive another major honor when he is named the Latin Recording Academy’s 2026 Person of the Year in Las Vegas on Nov. 11.

Daddy Yankee’s album La Postal is available on all major streaming platforms.
