THOUSAND OAKS, CA — As the Los Angeles Rams prepare for their voyage to Hawaii to face the Dallas Cowboys in their second pre-season game, DT Aaron Donald is looking forward to supporting his teammates on the sidelines on the trip despite him not playing.
“We’re just working, getting some good reps in and getting ready for football [season],” Donald said.
Donald’s insight will be especially helpful to players such as Sebastian Joseph-Day, Greg Gaines and the other defensive tackles competing for the starting spot this season.
The reason for many of the starters not playing and traveling with the team, is due to the work put in by the players in joint practices with the Los Angeles Chargers and Oakland Raiders in the past two weeks according to head coach Sean McVay.
Other notable starters such as QB Jared Goff and Todd Gurley and other players, would not make the trip to Hawaii, McVay told media on Thursday. The players who are staying on the mainland will practice on their own on Friday and Sunday.
