CULVER CITY, CA — Thursday night concluded the national book tour for sports agent and President of Football Operations for Klutch Sports Nicole Lynn, discussed her first published book “Agent You: Show Up, Do The Work and Succeed On Your Own Terms” at Malik’s Bookstore in front of a full audience.
Her unique approach to the sports agency world took many by storm, so there was no surprise when she conducted her book tour in a similar fashion by making sure she visited and patronized Black owned book stores around the country. Her book debut “Agent You” was written from a purpose driven standpoint, something Lynn is prevalent in her message to the many she comes into contact with including Black men and women.
“I did my entire (book) tour at Black owned book stores only, and I encourage everyone to comeback and please support this book store. We really wanted to give back to this amazing book store,” Lynn said.
Lynn was a Wall Street dynamo that decided to follow her dream of being a sports agent. Despite some push back from some family and friends, she knew she was walking in her purpose and on the right career path in life. Lynn grew up with very little, yet making six figures on Wall Street is not always easy to remove herself from. However Lynn was determined to live her purpose to the fullest, something she referred to as a hail mary in life.
“I started writing this book a couple of years ago,” Lynn explained to the audience. “I wasn’t really trying to write a book, it was more about writing about situations, tips that I have and somehow it turned into a book. ‘Agent You’ is about to be your own agent how to download that inner agent agent in you and how to unapologetically live in your purpose.“
Working in a male dominated industry was not easy for Lynn, however through the grace of God, hard work and diligence, she blazed a trail that many can and should follow as she continues to excel with her extensive and illustrious roster of talented NFL players. Her book can assist anyone in everyday life no matter what your career or job happens to be. The wisdom that pours out from each chapter is captivating and allows one to insert the jewels needs for success as they move closer towards achieving their goals in life.
Lynn also recently left her law firm approximately six weeks ago, something she considered to be her “second hail mary” while explaining to the audience about taking those risk that are very calculated.
She truly has a super power and a zest for not only her own life but is willing to inspire others and ignite them with knowledge necessary for their hail mary or touchdowns in life. The opening in her book used a quote from the late great Nipsey Hussle that read, “find your purpose or you’re wasting air“, a lyric off of his platinum album Victory Lap.
“If your not walking in your purpose you’re just working and living to die. You can’t be successful without finding your purpose. I equate purpose to your super power,” she said.
Lynn helps her clients with everything from their efforts in the community to planning for life after football, something she discusses with each of her clients on day one. In addition to her releasing the book, there is a television show being developed by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson based upon her life coming soon.
Not only does she represent for her clients well, but displays a great example to the culture on what a dream, hard work, and purpose can produce. In order to prepare a seat at the table, her magnificent work ethic and her faith have carried her through it all.
“My faith is the anchor for everything. Didn’t have parental guidance and so all I had was Jesus. At eight years old for me it was deep intimate relationship with Him because I didn’t have anything else. Faith is so important to me and when I talk about favor… yes I work hard, yes I am smart, but I had a player chose me! I had the number one player in college football choose me because he could’ve chosen someone else… that’s favor,” Lynn said regarding Quinnen Williams the number three first round 2019 NFL Draft pick.
She represents several players including Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, and recently Alabama defensive lineman Christian Barmore, whom the New England Patriots selected with the 38th pick in the second round in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Lynn’s book can be purchased at Malik’s Books in Los Angeles, on Amazon and where fine books are sold. It’s published by Harper Horizon and will be available on audio book by August 1. Klutch Sports is owned and operated by Rich Paul.
