LOS ANGELES — Lionsgate presents “Americana,” a wildly entertaining modern-day western starring Sydney Sweeney, Paul Walter Hauser, Halsey, Simon Rex, Eric Dane, and Zahn McClarnon. Written and directed by Tony Tost, “Americana” showcases a gallery of dynamic characters clashing over the possession of a rare Native American artifact.
The film’s plot unfolds as the artifact surfaces on the black market, setting off a chain of events. A shy waitress with big dreams (Sydney Sweeney) finds herself unexpectedly partnered with a lovelorn military veteran (Paul Walter Hauser) in a quest to obtain the artifact. Their pursuit puts them squarely in the sights of a ruthless criminal (Eric Dane), who is working on behalf of a Western antiquities dealer (Simon Rex).
As the battle for the artifact intensifies, bloodshed ensues, drawing in other players, including the leader of an indigenous group (Zahn McClarnon) and a desperate woman fleeing her mysterious past (Halsey).
