On November 11, 2022, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be released worldwide. Last Thursday night, Hollywood got its first look at the highly-anticipated sequel at the Dolby Theater where fashion, black excellence, and melanin reigned supreme.
Director Ryan Coogler wore silk and a custom-made Chadwick Boseman necklace to honor Wakanda’s King T’Challa. His beard and eyewear game were also on point.
Lupita Nyong’o (Nakia) was stunning in an off-the-shoulder two-piece braided Balmain look. Our good sis is the leader of the ‘Chocolate Girls’ squad and can pull off any look, from modern to classy to afrocentric.
HoneyComb Bae: Michael B. Jordan dressed in a yellow Louis Vuitton suit, drips honey. Jordan’s return as beloved villain Erick Killmonger has yet to be confirmed or denied by Marvel, but that didn’t stop the Creed star from bringing some sunshine to the purple carpet.
Purple Reign: Reprising her role as Queen Romanda, Angela Bassett shows that she still has “It” while wearing a Moschino Peplum Dress. Auntie is extremely graceful.
Sexy in all black: Letitia Wright (T’Challa’s sister) stayed classic in a crystal-encrusted suit reminiscent of the late Chadwick Boseman’s 2018 Oscar look. Will she carry T’Challa’s Black Panther legacy?
