LOS ANGELES, CA — The Boston Bruins fed off the momentum of their fans on the road at Crypto.com Arena that led them to a 7-0 win over the Kings on Monday night.

The Los Angeles Kings entered the game second in the Pacific Division with a five game winning streak. Goalie Jonathan Quick made 14 saves, while Cal Petersen stopped 11 shots in relief as the Kings were shutout for only the fourth time this season. The Bruins were aggressive in the first period as Jake DeBrusk scored the first two goals for a 2-0 lead. With less than minute into the second period DeBrusk scored his third goal of the game where Los Angeles had no defensive answer for him.

Bruins forward Erik Haula scored twice in the third period to tack on an additional pair against the Kings. One goal scored Haula was on a power play at 10:11 of the third period.

The only positive point for the Kings is that they outshout the Bruins on goal 34-32.

We’re upset, that’s a loss that we don’t want, to lose that big, we’re going to have to look ourselves in the mirror and learn from our mistakes,” Alex Iafallo said. “It was a good run, so at the same time we have to stay positive, but we have to come back tomorrow and be ready to rock and roll.”

The Kings outshot their opponent for the 21st consecutive game, tying the second longest streak in NHL history (shots began being tracked in 1959-60). It is the longest such streak since St. Louis outshot their opponent 21 consecutive times Nov. 29, 2001-Jan. 12, 2002.

We talked about it after the game, these losses, we have to learn from them quick,” Iafallo on the team being able to bounce back. “We’re pissed off, that’s a huge loss, and we’ve got to bounce back, stay positive and learn from our mistakes.”

The Kings will look to regroup and try to begin a new winning streak on the road against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday night.
