INGLEWOOD, CA — Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was a nightmare for the Rams defense, uncontainable and lethal with his arm as he threw for 268 yards, completed 24 of 32 passes and threw for two touchdowns en route to a 37-20 shocker over the Rams at SoFi Stadium.
The undefeated Cardinals showed why they’re the offense under head coach Kliff Kingsbury that can score at will and often. Murray not only attacked the Rams with his arm and good football IQ, but also beat them with his legs and he finished with 39 yards rushing.
Just one week after defeating the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Bucs, the Rams appeared to be a completely different looking team. Matthew Stafford did not look like the effective quarterback a week ago, and finished 26 of 41, threw two touchdowns and 280 yards in the loss.
“I think as a team, we probably weren’t good enough as far as going out on every single play and executing it,” Stafford said post game.
Cardinals defense neutralized Stafford’s favorite target in Cooper Kupp as he finished with a quiet five catches for 64 yards and no touchdowns.
The Rams will look to regroup on a short week as they head up to Seattle to face the Seahawks on Thursday night.
