DETROIT, MI – The Los Angeles Chargers not lost 13-10 to the Detroit Lions, but lost their safety Adrian Phillips to an arm injury.

According to reports, Phillips broke his arm attempting to tackle Lions running back Kerryon Johnson on a play. With Phillips possibly out for a significant amount of the time and no Derwin James who is out with a foot injury, the Chargers secondary has been severely weakened.

With the Houston Texans scheduled to play the Chargers on Sunday at Dignity Health Sports Park, Jaylen Watkins could be in the rotation at the position. Desmond King could also get some strong time at safety on Sunday as well. Philips finished the game against the Lions with six tackles.
