COSTA MESA, CA — Just days away from the start of the 2020 NFL Season, the Los Angeles Chargers look to turn things around and flush the disappointing 2019 season away. A new chapter for the organization, along with a new stadium they share with the Rams, and a new quarterback to lead the franchise back to their winning ways.
Tyrod Taylor will be under center for the season and is ready is locked and loaded to put up some wins for the Bolts.
“I’m excited to lead this group of men but, at the same time, be able to show what I can do. I know what I’m capable of doing. My teammates know,” Taylor said on Wednesday.
The last time Taylor was a starter was 2018 for the Cleveland Browns before being replaced by rookie sensation Baker Mayfield due to concussion injury. Taylor has learned a great deal since that time and has developed a bond with head coach Anthony Lynn that dates back to their days in Buffalo.
“I’m just excited for the young man because he’s very persistent,” Lynn explained smiling. “He’s very patient. He’s waited for his turn.”
With no preseason games due to COVID19 and strict Training Camp schedule, teams will have rely on their camp and practice experiences before the taking the field this season. However Taylor doesn’t that lack of extra pre-season prep as an issue for his team.
“I think we have great chemistry. We were able to build on it each day of training camp, and I am looking forward to going out and making plays with those guys,” Taylor said.
As the leader of the pack, Taylor will be responsible for leading his troops to the promise land of winning a championship. However they must take each game one week at a time and get better each week. With a fresh offense in his grasp, the success rate for Taylor and the Bolts should be very high this season.
