LOS ANGELES – The Clippers captured a 103-97 win over the San Antonio Spurs due to the diligence of Kawhi Leonard who finished with 38 points and 12 rebounds, along with Montrezl Harrell who finished with 24 points.
Leonard sat out of Wednesday’s loss against the Utah Jazz, returned fresh and focused on defeating his former team.
The Clippers handed the Spurs their first loss of the season on Thursday night at Staples Center.
“I think we were just aggressive all night,” Leonard said. “Came out with the defense once again, held them under 100 points and we just kept at it. We missed shots in the second quarter, but we just stayed confident.”
The Clippers look to avenge their loss earlier in the week against the Utah Jazz on Sunday.
