LOS ANGELES, CA — Producer Dae One has worked with everyone from Snoop Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, Ice Cube, Bigg Gipp (Goodie Mob), Jay Rock, SZA, Travis Barker, Kendrick Lamar, and others shared in a recent intimate studio listening session with his latest project “The Diamond Collective”.
A new project that features all women rappers from various backgrounds, and different styles with a unique sound that only Dae One can provide on his XCVI Recordings label. The project features Ash Bash Tha Rapper, Ally Cocaine, Neb Luv (Da 5 Footaz), SKG, Latoiya Williams, Medusa The Gangsta Goddess, Chevy Jones, Brevi, C Starr, Shae Fields, Yah-Ra, Sylk E. Fyne, and many more. In a private listening session that including legendary producer Daz Dillinger, Long Beach artist G-Style, Compton Menace, along with some of the artists featured on The Diamond Collective, and some attendees privileged to listen to this project were subjected to a sonic sound that were poetic to the ears.
Eventually, the studio listening session turned into one big party as everyone in attendance vibed out the tracks as well as the women emcees on the songs that were played on the project. The album will be available on May 12 on all streaming platforms. Dae One will be the first producer to showcase over 80 women rappers on the project.
“It’s some super phenomenal artists in this building, I know what you all do individually and all of y’all are dope as f**k,” Dae One told the crowd inside the listening session.
This is an outstanding body of work by Dae One and all of the artists featured on the albums. A project of this magnitude was not only needed in Hip Hop, but a labor of love for the art form and another path for women emcees to be recognized, respected, and honored for their incredible skills and constant contributions to Hip Hop as the art form turns 50 years old this year.
It’s a genre that has forever changed and shaped pop culture in our society.
