LOS ANGELES, CA — Friday afternoon, the Los Angeles Dodgers welcomed back over 15,000 fans in a home opener that featured the team receiving their 2020 World Series championship rings.
Over 550 days have passed since the last fans were able to cheer on the Dodgers before a deadly pandemic forever changed the world we live in.

Fans witnessed many of their beloved players including Tony Gonsolin, Gavin Lux, Julio Urias, Cody Bellinger and many others received their rings as each players names were called.
The crowd roared as Mookie Betts received his ring, the first time fans had an opportunity to cheer for Betts since the trade in 2020.

Clayton Kershaw, Corey Seager also received loud cheers as each Dodger player received a special message from a veteran former Major Leaguer.

David Price decided to auction off his championship ring for a really great cause. Price planned to auction the ring to benefit the Players Alliance.
The proceeds will go to The Players Alliance, which consist of a group of over 150 current and former Black baseball players who look to create change and equality in the game of baseball, as well as throughout the Black community.

The Players Alliance has donated $41.7 million to Black communities since its inception. Over the off season, The Players Alliance went on a 33-city tour that helped deliver $1 million worth of baseball equipment to the Black community and other communities of color.

The 35 year old pitcher was one of the first players to opt out of the 2020 MLB season due to the pandemic.

Currently Price is in a reliever role with the Dodgers but if called upon would be ready to start. A great and classy move by Price who truly stands on his principals of equality and a better society.
