LOS ANGELES, CA — On a warm evening in Downtown Los Angeles, Black excellence was truly highlighted, celebrated, and exalted at the 2022 BET Awards inside the Microsoft Theater. From the opening of Lizzo’s performance setting it off for host and actress Taraji P. Henson, it was truly “About Damn Time” for the crowd to cheer on the talents of the rising singing star.

Many of the brightest stars in the world of music and culture headed into the awards ceremony with numerous nominations that included; Doja Cat, Drake, and Ari Lennox who unfortunately came up empty in the win column. The incredibly talented Bruno Mars won an award for ‘Album Of The Year’ for An Evening With Silk Sonic, and Silk Sonic also took home the best group award.

The curator of culture for decades whether it was through his Bad Boy Entertainment label, introducing many to fresh gear with his Sean John clothing line, and kept the partying going with his majority investment beverage ‘Ciroc’ and Deleon Tequila, as Sean “Diddy” Combs received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
