ANAHEIM — The Disneyland Resort transforms into a Halloween spectacular. Halloween Time 2024 at Disneyland promises to be an unforgettable celebration, blending the magic of Disney with the spooky thrills of the season. Whether you’re a seasoned Disney fan or a first-time visitor, this year’s festivities offer something for everyone.
From August 23 through October 31st, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park are decked out in all things Halloween. The iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle is adorned with eerie yet enchanting decorations, while Main Street, U.S.A., becomes a pumpkin-filled paradise.
Some of the newer attractions receive the HalloweenTime makeover that include:
Haunted Mansion Holiday: A fan-favorite, this ride combines the classic Haunted Mansion with Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack Skellington and his friends take over the mansion, creating a whimsical yet eerie experience.
Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark: At Disney California Adventure, the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction transforms into a thrilling, Halloween-themed adventure where guests help Rocket rescue Groot from terrifying creatures.
Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy: This high-speed ride through space becomes a frightening encounter with ghosts and ghouls, with haunting music and special effects that make for a truly chilling experience.
Classic Disney villains make sinister appearances in the nighttime spectacular “Halloween Screams,” featuring iconic characters such as Ursula from The Little Mermaid, Captain Hook from Peter Pan, and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. Each villain comes to life that reflect their unique personalities—Ursula, accompanied by bottomless ocean bubbles and her menacing tentacles that go up the castle.
The Halloween transformation of Radiator Springs, now known as ‘Radiator Screams.’ Main characters like Mater and Lightning McQueen sport Halloween decals, that are just perfect for the season. The Cozy Cone Motel features spooktacular designed cones that bring a lighthearted scare, while zombie cars scattered throughout the area serve as hidden surprises. Horror movie posters from the Cars franchise adorn the walls, and Luigi’s tires receive a cheerful touch of orange just in time for Halloween fun. It’s a truly fascinating experience for all guest of all ages.
Guests to partake in Plaza de la Familia, a cultural celebration dedicated to the traditions of Día de los Muertos. Plaza de la Familia runs from August 23 – Nov. 2, 2024. Families can savor delicious Mexican cuisine and enjoy heartfelt live entertainment that honors this vibrant holiday. Guests can dive into family crafts, visit the heartfelt Arbol de la Vida photo location, and contribute to the Memory Wall. The celebration highlights music from the beloved film Coco, including ongs such as “The World Es Mi Familia,” and many more icluding the tune “La Llorona.”
