LOS ANGELES — The 2024 World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers will travel to Washington D.C. On April 7, the squad will visit the White House to meet with President Donald Trump in honor of their championship accomplishment.
The Dodgers have accepted President Trump’s invitation to celebrate their achievement at the White House during their trip to Washington, D.C., for a game. The gathering is a tribute to how well the team performs on the field and pride in representing the best of baseball in the United States.
“It means a lot to us to be recognized at the White House for winning the 2024 World Series,” the Dodgers wrote on X. This invitation gives them a chance to show off their hard-fought title again — this time on a national stage.
The visit will feature an engagement with President Trump, during which the team will talk about their climb to the top, what their victory means, and share favorite moments from the season. This final close-out event adds another laurel to the Dodgers’ “ever after” as they engrave their victory on baseball minds and American hearts.
Along with visiting the White House, the Dodgers will head to Capitol Hill on April 8, as they have done in the past, to tour the political landscape. This visit is consistent with their goal of working with lawmakers while also allowing players the opportunity to better understand the legislative process and the role of sports in American culture.
For the Dodgers, these events represent a fun and significant moment, one in which the team is able to celebrate not only as champions on the field but also as ambassadors for baseball off of it. The trips are expected to reinforce the connections between the realm of sports and national governance and reflect the significance of their World Series win beyond the ballpark.
The team’s last White House visit was in 2021 after winning its 2020 World Championship during the global pandemic under President Joe Biden.

However, Mookie Betts told Los Angeles Times beat writer Jack Harris that he remains undecided if he’ll attend the White House visit. Betts declined the White House visit as a member of the Boston Red Sox in 2019 under President Trump’s first term in office.
