LOS ANGELES — The collaboration between Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg goes beyond music; it now transcends into the world of beverages with its new spirits line “Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop“. The proposition is as straightforward as it sounds, symbolizing nostalgia and camaraderie. The two sat down with legendary radio personality and Real 923/ iHeart Radio host Big Boy about their latest endeavor. The two were introduced back in the late 1980’s through Dr. Dre’s brother Warren G who happen to be a childhood friend of Snoop Dogg. From the forming of Death Row Records with then co-founder Suge Knight to the creating of iconic records such as “The Chronic“, “Doggystyle“, aiding Tha Dogg Pound‘s debut classic “Dogg Food“, several soundtracks, films, and now these two appear to not only have a friendship but formed a long-lasting bond of brotherhood.

Snoop shared, “It’s like, it’s a layup. It’s right there.” After decades of friendship and successful careers, the duo felt it was time to create something together, highlighting their unique bond.

We love each other, so why not do some shit together?” Snoop said.
Their partnership resembles legendary duos like Mick Jagger and Keith Richards or Bono and The Edge according to what long time record executive and marketer Jimmy Iovine told the duo. Dr. Dre noted, “You know, I think Snoop said it the best. It’s like, we’re better together.” This chemistry is not just about the music; it’s reflected in their meticulous approach to crafting their gin. Snoop elaborated, “Everything he’s on is brand new.” However, Dr. Dre’s perfectionism often means he’s stringent about what cuts, humorously dismissing ideas with “Now get that shit out of here.”

The genesis of their gin and juice initiative is rooted in their formative years. “I came in with the Seagram, with the bumpy face gin and juice. It just was our drink,” Snoop reminisced. Those early days of carefree enjoyment they laid the groundwork for an extensive marketing effort. They didn’t realize what was happening. “We weren’t in it for the lifestyle… We trying to make the dopest f***ing music.”

Creating the gin has involved detailed taste-testing sessions and hands-on experimentation. “I’ve been through the f***ing laboratory… Creating the gin, creating the flavors,” Dr. Dre explained. This process signifies authenticity and personal investment in a product that carries their essence. He added, “It’s not like we’re using somebody else’s gin and putting our name on it.”

The final product is a reflection of their journey and dedication, turning memories into a tangible experience for fans. With each can of gin and juice, and featured flavors that include Apricot, Melon, Passion Fruit, and Citrus, Snoop and Dre deliver a taste that is as rich as their history together—proof that their partnership is indeed better together.
