PHILADELPHIA, PA — Appearing in his first Super Bowl as a starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Hurts earned a new deal with the team that ensures he will be staying the city of brotherly love for the next five years. Hurts’ new deal is worth $255 million with $179.3 million guaranteed along with a no-trade clause. Klutch Sports President of Football Operations and agent Nicole Lynn worked diligently to get the deal completed. The brilliance of Hurts to utilize his leverage coming off of the Super Bowl paid off in a huge way, not just with his contract but also building towards the future of the Eagles being a serious contender.

Hurts’ deal is the biggest contract in terms of average annual value (AAV) in league history. Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson’s $230 million contract, which he signed last year is fully guaranteed, and is still the biggest in terms of guaranteed money.

Hurts was an MVP candidate last season, throwing for 3,701 yards with 22 touchdowns to six interceptions while rushing for 760 yards and 13 touchdowns. He’s improved every season since coming into the league and though many doubted his ability to start and lead a team in the NFL, Hurts continues to prove the doubters wrong at every turn. Even after losing a close 38-35 game in the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs, Hurts gained the respect of one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes.

A great day for Hurts, his family, Nicole Lynn, Klutch Sports, and the Eagles fan base across the country, knowing they have a leader that will be in the drivers seat for a long time.
