EXCLUSIVE: Jermaine Dupri Talks Collaborations with Possibly Dr. Dre and Slutty Vegan Founder Pinky Cole

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA — So So Def Recordings head huncho Jermaine Dupri had introduced the world to hits for decades and while celebrating 50 years of Hip Hop, Dupri has carved his lane with highlighting 30 years of his hit label to the masses.

Dressed in a designer tux with his famous shades as Dupri graced the red carpet at the annual City Of Hope Spirit Of Life gala to help celebrate the achievements of music label executive Lyor Cohen. He continuing to promote his upcoming So So Def 30 concert in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia along with dropping some information regarding some future plans with Slutty Vegan founder Pink Cole and possibility on working with Dr. Dre.

It could be… I think it would be dope if we made an R&B record, me and Dre,” Dupri told Nitecast Media on recording a possible collaboration between the two producers. “We’d have to figure out what each person’s piece is and just off top I know I could write the song and (Dr. Dre) would come up with the tracks, it’ll be dope.

Dupri has carved his own path for the past 30 years introducing the world to groups such as Xscape, Kris Kross, Da Brat (first female rap artist to go platinum), Bow Wow, Jagged Edge, and helped kick start the career of Usher. Dupri had produced several remixes of songs that are classics tho this day, working with Dru Hill, and the late Notorious B.I.G to name a few. Dupri also recalibrated the career of Mariah Carey in 2005, the Franchise Boyz, continuing to make sure that So So Def is not just a label, but a movement that continued to help elevate the genre and culture of hip-hop.

Although he has yet to working with some of his mentors like Quincy Jones and Teddy Riley, Dupri has mentored several in the industry in order to help them perfect their craft.

Outside of his successful musical endeavors, Dupri had been a long standing advocate for Vegan lifestyle recently created his ice cream line and could there be an opportunity for a partnership with Slutty Vegan founder Pinky Cole?

It’s going to be a Slutty JD coming look out for that,” he said smiling.

There is no date set for the collaboration hitting stores for customers to consume but rest assure these two incredible business masterminds have a something great on the horizon.
