LOS ANGELES, CA — One of Netflix most anticipated shows ‘Survival Of The Thickest starring Michelle Buteau as Mavis Beaumont debuts globally on July 13 on the streaming giant. Buteau plays a newly single, plus-size woman who unexpectedly has to rebuild her career as a struggling hairstylist and make some serious life choices in the process.
In the eight episode comedy, she is focused and ready to survive but thrive with the support of her chosen family, a body positive attitude, and a fashion sense that will put everyone on notice. The incredible cast also includes, Tone Bell, Tasha Smith, Liza Treyger, Anissa Felix, Garcelle Beauvais, Taylor Selé, Anthony Michael Lopez, and Sarah Cooper.
The series was created by Buteau and Danielle Sanchez-Witzel, who will serve as the showrunner for the series. The show is executive produced by Ravi Nandan and Alli Reich from A24, and Anne Hong from Mosaic.
