Gamecocks Land Six on Athlon Sports Preseason All-SEC, All-America Teams with Dylan Stewart and QB LaNorris Sellers

COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA– The University of South Carolina football program is generating significant buzz heading into the 2025 season, with six players earning prestigious preseason All-America and All-SEC honors from Athlon Sports, as announced today.

Sophomore edge rusher Dylan Stewart leads the decorated group, securing a coveted spot on Athlon’s first-team All-America and first-team All-SEC squads. The imposing 6-5, 245-pound defensive force from Washington, D.C., is expected to be a game-changer for the Gamecock defense.

Redshirt sophomore quarterback LaNorris Sellers also received dual recognition, landing on Athlon’s third-team All-SEC and fourth-team All-America teams. This accolade underscores the high expectations surrounding Sellers as he takes the reins of the South Carolina offense.

Joining Stewart and Sellers are four additional Gamecocks, showcasing the program’s depth and talent across multiple positions. Junior defensive back Jalon Kilgore was named to the second-team All-SEC, while sophomore offensive lineman Josiah Thompson earned third-team All-SEC honors. Junior wide receiver Nyck Harbor and senior safety DQ Smith round out the selections, both securing spots on Athlon’s fourth-team All-SEC unit.
