General Hospital Won Big At 49th Annual Daytime Emmys

PASADENA, CA — Imagine being on the brink of 60 years on television and that has impacted the lives of many generations throughout the course of time, with a stronghold on daytime television. That is the legacy of one of the most popular brands in ABC’s General Hospital which took home it’s 15th Daytime Emmy Award. The daytime drama won in four consecutive categories: Best Supporting Actress (Kelly Thiebaud), Best Supporting Actor (Jeff Kober), Best Young Performer (Nicholas Chavez), and Best Drama Directing Team.

The Kelly Clarkson Show was named named Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show and Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host at the Daytime Emmys.

Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series was won by John McCook as Eric Forrester for his portrayal in The Bold and the Beautiful.

Mishael Morgan as Amanda Sinclair in the CBS series The Young and the Restless won for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series.

Actresses Alyvia Alyn Lind and Barbara Alyn Woods also spoke about the upcoming season of SyFy’s hit series “Chucky”.

Days Of Our Lives actor Lucas Adams (Dr. Tripp Johnson) and actress Raven Bowens spoke about their experience on performing on daytime television and being apart of the iconic series.

The outstanding evening was hosted by Entertainment Tonight’s host Nischelle Turner and Kevin Frazier who did a masterful job in front of the incredible Daytime Emmy audience. Before the festivities began, the duo made an appearance on the red carpet.
