ATLANTA, GA — Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Gunner Stockton has had an opportunity to not only improve his skills but also lead his team into the 2025 season. At the prestigious Manning Passing Academy, Stockton had the chance to spend time with South Carolina Gamecocks quarterback LaNorris Sellers.

It was great. He could spin it,” Stockton told reporters regarding his interaction with Sellars at SEC Media Days. “It was great to be around all the quarterbacks out there. That was the neat part, just getting to know everybody. Because, through high school, you go to camps, but you aren’t around most of them. But it was neat getting to meet everybody and get to learn.

In addition to the chance to connect with other SEC quarterbacks, Stockton expressed his enthusiasm for the 2025 season in Athens.

We’re really excited about the [2025] season. We’ve had a great offseason. Just getting to know everybody and coming together and really connecting.

With Carson Beck transferring to the Miami Hurricanes this season, Stockton takes on the responsibility of leading Georgia under center, while carrying the weight of some serious expectations.

For me, just the way I handle myself, I feel like I’ve shown up just since I’ve been to college, and just the way I live my life. Showing up to work every day and trying to do the right thing, and not always being perfect because we’re not going to be perfect, but just treating people the right way. The biggest thing is showing up to work and doing the right thing,” Stockton said regarding his leadership.

Talented transfers like former Texas A&M WR Noah Thomas and former USC WR Zachariah Branch have reinforced the Bulldogs’ receiving corps.

I think going through spring was a big deal. Just having that time because it was about a month straight of work and practice. Just getting a lot of banked reps and having this offseason, just throwing seven on seven and working out almost every day, and just spending a lot of time together has helped a lot.

As the season approaches, many eyes will be on Stockton and the Bulldogs as they aim to compete for an SEC Championship and ultimately a National Championship. Georgia host Marshall in the first game of the season on August 30.
