WILMINGTON, DE– The HBCU Week Foundation is proud to unveil an electrifying lineup for the highly anticipated HBCU Week Concert on September 25th in Wilmington, Delaware. This year’s event promises to be an unforgettable celebration of music, talent, and the significant contributions of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The legendary Jadakiss will headline the concert and feature captivating performances by JT, Lady London, and opening acts Honey Baby and local artist Ken Master$.

We are excited to welcome such an incredible lineup of talent to our HBCU Week Concert,” said Ashley Christopher, Founder and CEO of the HBCU Week Foundation. “Lady London, Jadakiss, and JT are not only talented artists but also proud HBCU affiliates who exemplify the spirit of our celebration. Their participation will help us continue to shine a light on the importance of supporting Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

JT, known for her role in the dynamic duo City Girls, has made waves in the music industry with her unique voice and vibrant performance style. As a solo artist, she continues to explore new musical themes while remaining true to the energy that brought her success. Fans are eagerly anticipating her captivating stage presence and fresh material.

Lady London, a rising star celebrated for her lyrical prowess and engaging charisma, is on the brink of releasing her debut EP. Drawing from her life experiences, Lady London is determined to use her platform to inspire youth and uplift those around her. As an HBCU graduate, she embodies the essence of HBCU Week and its mission.

Jadakiss’s career began in the late 1990s and has made him one of hip-hop’s most influential figures and one-third of the hip hop group The LOX. Known for his authentic storytelling and gritty lyrics, he has solidified his place among rap legends. As he prepares to release a highly anticipated new album, fans can expect a showcase of his growth as an artist while staying true to his roots.

HBCU Week in Wilmington, Delaware, provides an extensive schedule of events from September 22nd to September 29th, catering to high school and middle school students. The week starts with a Prayer Brunch at The Queen on September 22nd, followed by a 5K run at Rockford Park on September 23rd.
On September 24th, students will have the opportunity to take part in a Middle School College Tour at Delaware State University. The HBCU Week festivities will continue with a My HBCU Experience Panel Discussion at Mount Pleasant High School and a Happy Hour leading up to the concert at The Queen on September 25th. This discussion will also occur at Middletown High School on September 26th.
The week will also feature an HBCU College Fair at The Chase Fieldhouse on September 27th and a “The Memo” screening at The Delaware Contemporary. The celebrations will culminate on September 28th with an HBCU Week Block Party in Downtown Wilmington before the highly anticipated HBCU Battle of the Bands, set for September 29th at Frawley Stadium. This exciting finale will showcase marching bands from Morgan State University, Delaware State University, Lincoln University (Pennsylvania), and Virginia State University.

The HBCU Week Concert and accompanying events celebrate music and talent while highlighting the importance of education and community engagement. With a lineup that embodies creativity and pride in HBCU culture, the foundation is dedicated to inspiring the next generation and fostering a sense of unity.
