COSTA MESA, CA — After not seeing action after eight months due to a knee injury, Chargers tight end Hunter Henry is hopefully he’ll play on Sunday against the New England Patriots. Henry is still listed as questionable and more than likely will be a game-time decision.

He tore his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in his right knee while running a route during a non-contact drill on May 22, and had surgery approximately two weeks later. Since he was cleared to practice on Dec. 7, he’s been focused on getting back on the field.

“Anytime I’m out there I feel like I can make a difference, so that’s my mindset going into any game that I play,” Henry said. “Like I said, long journey, so just a lot of excitement around here.”

“The knee feels good, so I’m not really concerned about that,” Henry said. “I’m ready to go. I’ve done it my whole life, so it will be different, but once I get a hit out of the way I’ll be feeling good.”

Henry has 81 receptions for 1,057 yards and 12 touchdowns in his first two seasons with the Chargers.

RB Melvin Gordon tweaked his knee last week against the Baltimore Ravens, but is expected to start on Sunday.

With their offense completely back, the Bolts understand the task at hand and learned a great deal from their loss last season against the Pats.

Everyone on the team is loose yet focused, and with a fired up energy and vibe, the Bolts are ready to prove the doubters wrong, grab a win, and make history.

The Chargers face the Patriots on Sunday at 10:05AM PT on CBS.
