LOS ANGELES, CA — Power IV Force series continues to be the highest rated series on the Starz network that stars Joseph Sikora as Tommy Eagen and Isaac Keys as Diamond Sampson. Keys was recently on the red carpet in Los Angeles at 53rd Annual NAACP Image Awards and discussed his role on the popular show, his impact on his character, working with Kris D. Lofton and the pressures of having an executive producer in Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
“The Power universe is crazy, Power Book Iv Force has been amazing to me and I hope it’s been amazing to the fans,” Keys said.
Each week fans get an opportunity to delve deeper into the character of Diamond Sampson and understand his plight back to a kingdom he left 15 years ago due a jail sentence that he ultimately served.
“With this character Diamond Sampson, I just had to tap into who he is… he’s the type of person that is transitioning. Something that I think fans can relate to that and having to make hard decisions and the outcomes of those decisions.“
Keys wanted the audience to relate to his character especially those who have served time in prison and being released back into society and dealing with the adaptation of the world. Keys character appears to be wiser and yet still adjusting to his new surroundings where his younger brother Jenard Sampson played by Lofton, don’t agree with the decisions that older brother Diamond is making. A sibling rivalry is beginning to brew among the two characters, however the chemistry between the two actors is absolutely phenomenal. It’s almost like watching a battle between two emcees go at it, in a sense of iron sharpening iron.
“I’ve known Kris throughout the game, and I’ve known of him because I respected his work,” Keys said of working with Lofton. “When I found out he got the role I was lke this dynamic is going to crazy, it’s going to be bananas. We wanted to sit down and rehearse some of our scenes together, because we knew it was important for this dynamic of this brotherly love.
“We wanted to show that from the start so it can have a place to grow and take off as the season goes on. Kris is an amazing actor along with the rest of the cast,” Keys explained.
As the part of the series continues to excel, having a sonic visionary genius in 50 Cent in the world of film and television, Keys explained the vibe on set when the mogul arrives.
“It’s iron sharpening iron, with 50 Cent being the head of the realm, we all want to bring value (and) we all want to show up. When he’s there he bring a different type of energy.“
The former NFL linebacker is making an impact in a major way in the television world and will have a lasting imprint on this season’s series and beyond.
