NEW YORK, NY — Actor Jonathan Majors, who starred as Kang The Conqueror in the Marvel film Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, was found guilty on Monday by a nine-member jury. Majors was found guilty of third-degree reckless assault and guilty of harassment from an incident between himself and his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
Majors also appeared in Loki series and was scheduled to star in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in 2026; however, due to the guilty verdict, Marvel has decided to part ways with the actor. Disney or Marvel disseminated no information on the future of the Kang character. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a new draft of the Kang Dynasty film by Michael Waldron could called Avengers 5. The studio could move into recasting the character of Kang or possibly moving on to introducing the audience to a new villain in Dr. Doom sooner than expected.
He is expected to be sentenced on February 6, 2024, and could face up to a year in jail. With his current legal troubles, The Lede Company and his management at 360 Entertainment severed ties with Majors several months ago. Although WME still represents him, that could soon change due to the verdict.
