LOS ANGELES, CA — Dogg Pound emcee Kurupt spoke via Instagram on Thursday to reveal some exciting moves being made by himself and rap partner/ producer Daz Dillinger, along with Snoop Dogg and the new Death Row Records imprint.
“Daz and Kurupt are back on the Row with Snoopy. Anywhere the Dogg is going to be we’re going to be, Kurupt and Daz you understand,” Kurupt explained about working with Snoop Dogg’s vision for Death Row Records.
Kurupt went on to explain that Snoop Dogg and the Dogg Pound members had a meeting about his plan and that they are on board with it. In Feburary, Snoop Dogg made the announcement that he acquired the Death Row Record label from MNRK Music Group, which was controlled by the Blackstone investment firm. A few weeks later reports surfaced that Snoop Dogg was also in process of purchasing the Death Row Records catalog that includes his albums “Doggystyle” and “Tha Doggfather“, “Murder was the Case“, “Above The Rim”, and “Dogg Food“. The catalog would not include Dr. Dre’s multi platinum classic “The Chronic” or any 2Pac releases “All Eyez On Me” and “Makaveli: The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory“, or 2Pac & The Outlawz “Still I Rise” albums. The Chronic is scheduled to be made available to Dr. Dre in 2023, while the 2Pac albums will belong to the estate of Tupac Shakur.
Kurupt went on to explain more project that are coming soon including “Dogg Food 2“, a collaboration album with the Dogg Pound and Tha Eastsidaz that consist of Tray Deee and Goldie Loc, a Snoop Dogg tour, and Daz releasing a films “Ain’t No Fun” and “Let’s Play House” soon.
“We have a joint venture between Dogg Pound Records and Snoop’s Death Row Records, he (Kurupt) got a solo album coming out, I got my solo album coming out called “Dat N**** Daz”, Daz added. “I have a single out now called ‘So Legendary’ and we’re just putting more music out.”
Daz and Kurupt also revealed that their projects will also be in the Metaverse with Snoop Dogg.
Kurupt also gave thanks and shouted out Harry-O, Suge Knight whom he reffered to as ‘Simon’ and Dr. Dre who started the label late in 1991.
