LOS ANGELES — The $315 million Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum renovation has finally been completed. The 18-month project was completed just in time for the USC Football scrimmage on Saturday afternoon, along with the Los Angeles Rams playing on August 24. The USC Trojans will host their first game on August 31 against Fresno State.

“Today we celebrate what our city leaders, our local community and the larger Trojan Family can accomplish when we work together and dream together,” USC President Carol L. Folt told the crowd.

The new Coliseum comes equipped with a brand new state-of-the-art press box, Founder’s Level suites and a rooftop deck for watching football and more. The project was privately founded through donations and the United Airlines naming rights deal. The stadium comes with new TVs and speakers which will allow fans to keep up with the game while they’re getting food in the new concession stands.

With new Wi-Fi towers around the stadium, fans will have access with their cellular devices.

“In Los Angeles, we don’t just mark history — like we’re doing here — but we make history,” Mayor Eric Garcetti said.

It’s a stadium that will be one of the premiere attractions in Los Angeles.

“The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is more than just a sports venue. It’s a living war memorial,” County Supervisor Janice Hahn said.

The stadium’s restrooms are next in the works for renovations. With Banc of California Stadium next door and the ninth district and Expo Park nearby, these landmarks continue to add to the diversity and beauty that the City of Angels has to offer.
