LOS ANGELES, CA – Just minutes before the puck dropped between the San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night, the Kings honored two-time Stanley Cup champion goalie Jonathan Quick in a pregame ceremony highlighting his 700 career game in the NHL.

Several of his teammates he won Stanley Cups with greeted Quick and his family on the ice that included Drew Doughty, Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar.

Quick has truly had a legendary career on the ice and the ultimate competitor at goal. He only cares about the wins, and not necessarily about his own accomplishments. After aiding his team in defeating a very strong Florida Panthers team, he was appreciative of the milestone but quickly turned it back on how proud of he was of his teammates play and glad he could contribute in a positive way.

It’s special. When they’re getting those moments, I’m happy for them and their families and then when you’re involved in it, you don’t want to be the center of attention, because you’ve got a game to play, but it was exciting and great we were able to get the win,” Quick said Sunday after the Kings win. “That’s the number-one key there.

Quick is also in the Top-25 all-time in playoff wins, with the fourth-best save percentage among netminders with at least 85 games played. Great athleticism and competitive efforts his way has been the keys to his monumental success in the NHL and with the Kings. As the team continues on their mission to make the playoffs this season, it’s awesome to see a man of his talents be given his flowers while he can still enjoy them.
