THOUSAND OAKS, CA — The Los Angeles Rams are currently undefeated on the field, yet the real victories come from the organization’s community involvement throughout Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Make-A-Wish Tri-Counties grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to give hope, strength, and joy. The positive experience a granted wish provides can make all the difference in a child’s course of treatment.
Monday night was no exception as the great people from the Make-A-Wish Foundation partnered with the Rams that created the first annual Night For Wishes Event. A spectacular program that involved several of the Rams players that included the host Andrew Whitworth, Jared Goff, Johnny Hekker to name a few to help raise funds in order to honor the wishes of sick children across Southern California.
“I am honored to support Make-A-Wish and the critical work they do,” Whitworth said. “There is nothing more important than helping these brave kids as they battle their illnesses.”
The highlight of the night was not just the people in attendance who bidded on some great items as the monies went towards the Make-A-Wish foundation, but a 17-year old young Rams fan Gilbert Cabrera had his wish come true. Cabrera was brought on stage by Whitworth and given two tickets and pre-game field passes to the Rams vs. Green Bay Packers game at the L.A. Coliseum. Whitworth surprised the Cabrera with an appearance from his favorite quarterback Jared Goff. Goff surprised Cabrera with two tickets to Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta.
“Two tickets to what should be another one of our games,“ Goff told a smiling Cabrera on stage.
The guest were able to interact and meet some of their favorite Rams players, take photos with Rams cheerleaders and Rampage. The event was hosted by philanthropist Andrew Firestone.
