THOUSAND OAKS, CA — Coming off an incredible 2021 season that resulted in a Super Bowl LVI victory over the Cincinnati Bengals that allowed the Los Angeles Rams to hoist up the Vince Lombardi Trophy at their home of SoFi Stadium, wide receiver Van Jefferson didn’t have much time to celebrate as he rushed off to the hospital to join his wife Samaria and newborn son Champ Curtis.

Between the incredible catches and spectacular route running, Jefferson continues to make a name for himself in this league in a high powered concentrated offense, that also consist of Super Bowl LVI MVP Cooper Kupp, quarterback Matthew Stafford and newly acquired wide receiver Allen Robinson. Jefferson’s football career started with some major assistance from his father Shawn Jefferson who played in the NFL and is currently wide receiver coach and assistant head coach. The second round pick from Florida has gradually made an impact and elevated his game to higher heights. In 2021, Jefferson had over 800 yards and six touchdowns. His 4 plays of 40+ yards ranked him 5th in the league and put defensive coordinators on notice that he is a definite downfield threat.

Having a great support system on the filed is important, however, having a great support system off the field is priceless like family. Jefferson understands that profusely with balancing family and football, citing his wife as the anchor to managing his family. The two have been together since 2014 and developed an unbreakable bond with one another.

She’s the ultimate warrior she’s always keeping me uplifted. I always tell her that I think that God specifically designed her for me,” Jefferson said about his wife smiling. “The way she talks to me, the way she encourages to me and always holds me accountable. Always tells me when I’m wrong, and makes sure I’m getting things done and I have nothing but great things to say about my wife.”

Although sleep maybe limited for the Jefferson household with the newborn, having balance in his life enables to focus being not only the best wide receiver he can be, but the best husband, father, and friend as well. He’s ready to run it back with his team and as he enters the next season, Jefferson is more focused than ever knowing the stakes are high but the rewards are priceless. Van Jefferson is faithfully locked in.
