LOS ANGELES – As much as Rams running back Todd Gurley has struggled this season, he managed to reach the 5,000 career yards mark on Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

It felt good, man. I guess I felt like the old Todd,” Gurley said after the game.

He became the sixth running back in Rams history to achieve the milestone. Gurley is ina  class with Steven Jackson (10,138 yards), Eric Dickerson (7,245 yards), Marshall Faulk (6,959 yards), Lawrence McCutcheon (6,186 yards) and Dick Bass (5,417 yards).

That was part of the game plan tonight,” Rams head coach Sean McVay said after his evaluation of Gurley. “I thought he did a great job. What I loved the most about what Todd did was after we put the first carry on the ground, he didn’t flinch. He came back, had some good tough, physical runs, made some good catches out of the backfield and he was a big-time contributor tonight.”

Gurley finished with 25 carries for 97 yards rushing and a touchdown, in the Rams 17-7 victory over the Bears on Sunday night. He also finished with three receptions for 36 yards.
