HOUSTON, TX — Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball suffered what was first thought as a severe ankle injury, as he was carried off the court sent to a local Houston hospital during the Rockets game on Saturday night.

Ball’s X-ray came back negative, though he will have an MRI to determine if there’s any further damage.

Ball suffered the injury after colliding with Rockets forward James Ennis. He hit the ground grabbing his ankle. Expect Alex Caruso from the South Bay Lakers (G-League) to get a call up in Ball’s absence.

Ball’s X-ray came back negative, though he will have an MRI to determine if there’s any further damage. An MRI on Sunday revealed that Ball has suffered a Grade-3 ankle sprain and will be out 4-6 weeks The Lakers won’t have the 21-year old guard back for some time, considering they’re missing LeBron James (groin), and Rajon Rondo (finger), someone will have to step up.
