EL SEGUNDO, CA — Days before Christmas, the Los Angeles Lakers and some their players hosted a Holiday Party for Kids. The team hosted the Junior Coaches from Playworks. These young at-risk students from areas across Los Angeles work to mentor their fellow students, and encourage hard work and persistence in and out of school.
Many of the children made Christmas cookies with Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell Pope, shot baskets with Josh Hart and Rajon Rondo, and played games with Brandon Ingram, Tyson Chandler, Lance Stephenson, and Svi Mykhaiiuk.
The children were also treated to meet and greet with every one’s favorite holiday character — The Grinch. Some of the children were competing with each other and players in X-Box game that included NBA 2K19. The event was a great success and was presented by East-West Bank and held at the UCLA Health Training Center.
