COLUMBIA, SC — South Carolina Gamecocks quarterback LaNorris Sellers and edge rusher Dylan Stewart have been recognized as first-team preseason All-SEC selections, announced by the conference. The selections were made by media members attending SEC Media Days in Atlanta over the past week.
Sellers, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound redshirt sophomore, is poised to build upon his impressive 2024 season. Stewart, a sophomore who is 6 foot-5 and 245 pounds, is expected to be a dominant force on the Gamecock defensive line. In addition to Sellers and Stewart’s first-team honors, defensive back Jalon Kilgore, a 6-foot-1, 211-pound junior, earned a spot on the second team.
The media also released their preseason poll, with South Carolina projected to finish fifth in the conference standings, behind Texas, Georgia, Alabama, and LSU.
The SEC Championship Game participants will be the two teams with the best overall SEC winning percentages during the eight-game regular-season conference schedule. History suggests that preseason predictions don’t always align with reality; since 1992, the predicted champion at SEC Media Days has only gone on to win the SEC Championship Game 10 times.

South Carolina will open its 2025 campaign on Aug. 31, traveling to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies. The game is scheduled for a 3:00 PM ET kickoff and will be broadcast on ESPN.
