For the Sparks, Kia Nurse and Rickea Jackson each added 13 points. Nurse was particularly effective early on, scoring nine of L.A.’s 18 first-quarter points, gave the Sparks an early lead. Jackson’s back-to-back 3-pointers and a critical score had the Sparks up 32-25 in the second quarter.
However, the Aces’ resilience was unyielding. A crucial 15-0 run, propelled by key baskets from Young, Clark, rookie Kate Martin, and Wilson, turned the momentum firmly in Las Vegas’s favor heading into halftime. The Aces extended their lead to 12 points during a dominant third quarter, eventually securing a 71-59 advantage.
This game marked a tough outing for the Sparks, who remained winless early in the season. As they prepare to face the Washington Mystics at home on Tuesday, they’ll be looking to regroup and find their first victory.

The victory keeps them on track in their quest for another championship triumph, while the Sparks face the challenge of turning around their early season struggles.
