LAS VEGAS, NV — Las Vegas, NV – The WNBA announced today that Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson has been named the Western Conference Player of the Month for August. This marks Wilson’s league-record 13th Player of the Month award, solidifying her place among the WNBA’s all-time greats and further strengthening her case for a fourth WNBA MVP award.
The three-time MVP now stands alone at the top with 13 career Player of the Month honors, surpassing Tina Charles (12, Eastern Conference) for the most in league history.
Throughout August, Wilson led the Aces to a franchise-high 12-game winning streak, showcasing her dominance on both ends of the court. In 13 games, she averaged a league-high 25.5 points on 49.8% shooting, pulled down 11.8 rebounds (second-best in the league), dished out 2.4 assists, blocked 1.8 shots (third-best), and recorded 1.4 steals.
This award marks her fourth consecutive month averaging at least 20 points. Wilson also recorded eight double-doubles and eclipsed the 25-point mark in eight games, including six 30-point performances.

Wilson’s outstanding play was consistently recognized throughout the month. On August 26, she secured her third consecutive Western Conference Player of the Week award and her fifth of the 2025 season. With this achievement, she tied Candace Parker for the second-most career weekly honors in WNBA history at 27. Tina Charles leads with 33 career weekly honors in the league.
As of September 1, 2025, Wilson’s overall statistics for the season are equally impressive. She leads the league in blocks per game and 841 total points scored, while ranking second in scoring average with 23.4 ppg and pulling down 10.1 rebounds per game. She has also recorded a total of 80 blocks, showcasing her prowess as a defensive force. With these stellar performances, Wilson is a leading contender for both the WNBA MVP and Defensive Player of the Year awards.
