LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James received good news from his MRI results on Wednesday morning, as he’s listed as day-to-day due to injury on his left groin.

James injured his groin in the third quarter of the Warriors game on Christmas night that forced him to leave the game. He overextended it when his right leg slipped while fighting for the ball with Draymond Green.

James tried to stretch on the sidelines but no luck. He told the training staff that he felt a pop and walked to the locker room.

With me, with injuries, I am never too concerned about them,” said James. “I was able to walk off on my own power. I felt a pop and [went to] see if I could stretch it a few times and see if it will relieve, but it didn’t.”

For the first time this season, James will miss games with the Lakers and will not travel with the team on Thursday as they face the Kings in Sacramento.

It’s more than anything being available to my teammates, to my coaching staff — that is something I take more personal than anything,” James said to the media. “Hopefully it is not a long thing and I can get back on the floor as soon as possible.”

For now players like Brandon Ingram, Rajon Rondo, Kyle Kuzma and others must pick up the slack in James’ absence.
