LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Rams have signed inside linebacker Troy Reeder to a one-year deal, bringing him back to Los Angeles in a bit of a homecoming. This re-signing brings back a familiar and consistent defensive playmaker with excellent leadership and effort on the field.
Reeder, initially signed by the Rams in 2019, has been a real contributor during his six NFL seasons. He played for the Rams from 2019 to 2021 and returned to the Rams in 2023 after playing for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2022. In 89 games and 37 starts over his career, he’s recorded 287 tackles (166 solo), including 12 tackles for loss, 10 passes defended, eight quarterback hits, five sacks, and two forced fumbles and interceptions.
The inside linebacker also has a postseason pedigree—he has the ability to perform on the big stage. Over the past two years, Reeder made the Rams’ run in seven postseason games, including five starts, a success that culminated with them winning Super Bowl LVI against the Cincinnati Bengals. Over those three games, he tallied 36 tackles (15 solo), two hits on opposing quarterbacks, and two passes defended.
Reeder emerged in the 2024 season, playing in six games, including six as a starter, and making 46 tackles (26 solo), one tackle for loss, and one pass defended. His showing not only signals his skillset but also his capacity to adjust and excel in the high-stakes setting of the NFL.
This signing adds an experienced, agile linebacker to the Rams’ defensive line-up. Reeder helped his odds of making this roster last week, and the Rams are hopeful he’ll aid the stoppers once he returns to full strength in October.
