Trout was unable to put on his shoe on Friday and felt pain in test before Sunday’s game.

In a statement from GM Billy Eppler, he explained the latest on Trout’s condition.

Mike Trout tested his foot in on-field activities today. There continues to be pain present with testing, and to address the issue, surgery is the recommended course of action. Mike is scheduled to undergo surgery to remove the Morton’s neuroma in his right foot later this week. Additional information will be provided as appropriate.”

He’s only missed 30 games in a season once, for the most part Trout has avoided major injuries in his career. Trout was on tap for a MVP type season with 45 homers, 104 RBI and 110 runs scored in 134 games by ending his 2019 season now.

With his departure, it’s a general consensus that Trout would be voted as the 2019 MVP, because he was far and above everyone else in categories. It’s sad that his season had to end like this instead of on his own terms.

Trout is expected to make a full recovery and should be ready in time for 2020 Spring Training.
