LOS ANGELES — On a very warm Saturday afternoon in the section of Los Angeles known as the Crenshaw District, a first of it’s kind of store has opened, The Marathon Store.
A revitalization has taken place in the last few years. music artist and businessman Nipsey Hussle is determined to create an oasis in the midst of a desert. With his by the block back mentality, he continues to transform the community he and many of us call home. The young entrepreneur has embraced and executed economic empowerment to the highest degree.
The flagship store has all kinds of futuristic features, including programmable technology built into the store’s design along with products for exclusive Nipsey Hussle releases. Customers can download a special app that will help them activate special features when they purchase any items in the store.
The grand opening brought out thousands to the corner of Crenshaw and Slauson Ave.
Everyone in the community came out to support along with many celebs from the sports and entertainment community, that included Big Boy from Real 92.3FM, Chuck Dizzle & DJ Hed (Homegrown Radio), Karen Civil, OKC Thunder guard Russell Westbrook, New Orlean Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins, Jeff G. (Power 106FM), rapper Jim Jones, actress Lauren London, Vegas Jones (Roc Nation), 21 Savage, and a Councilman from the 8th District of Los Angeles.
