SANTA CLARA, CA – The Oregon Ducks dominated the first half and shut out the Utah Utes at halftime. After a scare and momentum push by the Utah Utes in the third quarter, the Ducks remained poised as CJ Verdell ran for a third touchdown that sealed the deal for Oregon in a 37-15 win. Verdell finished with 208 yards and was named Pac-12 Championship game MVP.
“Hearing they’re the most physical team in the Pac-12 made us want to come out here and work even more harder,” said Verdell about Utah. “I couldn’t have done anything on that field without the O-line. They made the holes, paved the way for me to give the big runs.”
Verdell finished the season with 1,171 total yards and eight touchdowns for the Ducks on the season.
