EUGENE, OR — Oregon wide receiver Jurrion Dickey believes that focusing on the “small battles” and building a strong brotherhood will be crucial for the Ducks’ success this season, particularly as they navigate the challenges of the Big Ten Conference.
Dickey emphasized the importance of team unity over individual accolades.
“This year, I feel this offensive unit could truly bring a lot when it comes to the emotional aspect or when it comes to like big brotherhood,” he said. “I feel like our brotherhood is really big. I feel this is going to take us to a different opportunity because we want something different more than just an individual thing. We want it to be all together because we have already seen what happens when we predicted the highest. So we just want to just battle day by day, take it day by day, just focus on that. And it’s really our brotherhood gonna take us there.“
Dickey highlighted how a strong team bond can help overcome challenges throughout the season during practices and games.
“Because that like I said even days I get hard stuff like that… That’s when you go start fighting with your brothers,” Dickey explained. “That’s when you go start being all the little stuff is going to be nagging all the emotional stuff. So now all the little stuff we’re going to be straight. So that little stuff right there is gonna get us to where we need to get to.“
The Ducks boast a talented and deep wide receiver corps, which will be put to the test against the tough competition they will face in their inaugural Big Ten season.
