LOS ANGELES, CA – The Los Angeles Clippers destroyed the Charlotte Hornets 125-98 on Saturday night at Staples Center, thanks to a complete effort from Paul George who finished with 21 points and 10 assist on 8-for-14 shooting and shot 50% from the three point line.

The second straight game that George has regained his shooting touch, however Saturday night resulted in a much needed victory for the team. George is on a mission to not only elevate his team this season with hopes of making a deep playoff run, but being an even better player and leader on the floor. He is also the fourth player in team history and the first since Chris Paul to have atleast 20 points, 10 assists, and five rebounds with no turnovers.

It’s just gotta be the mindset,” George said. “It’s all about effort and energy. That’s just gotta be the mindset every night.”

George helped the Clippers set the tone from the opening tip as he scored 18 points in the first half, igniting other players like Kawhi Leonard and Lou Williams to be offensive match up problems for the visiting Hornets.

Despite the Clippers without two of their players in Serge Ibaka who was injured in the game against New Orleans and Patrick Beverley who continues to nurse a sore right knee, Los Angeles played like a well oiled machine.

Clippers defense in the paint was immaculate as they slowed down Charlotte to a snail’s pace, as the Clippers outscored the Hornets 56-30 in the paint. L.A.’s defense clamped down on rookie star LeMelo Ball who finished with 13 points on a terrible shooting night.

Seven Clippers finished in double figures including Leonard with 17 points, Marcus Morris Sr. with 13 points, Ivica Zubac added 10 points and Lou Williams finished with 15 points. Terrance Mann added energy and scoring with 16 points on 70% shooting from the field.

I think it’s pretty simple,” Mann said. “We just gotta play hard. We’re a scary team when we play hard.

The Clippers will host the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night at Staples Center.
