PHOENIX, AZ — In a showdown in the Valley of the Sun, the Phoenix Mercury secured an 87-68 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks, a win that snapped their four-game losing streak and showcased the explosive talent of basketball icon Diana Taurasi. Taurasi led the charge from beyond the arc, torching the Sparks with sharpshooting prowess and finished with a season-high 31 points.
Taurasi’s exceptional performance was complemented by standout contributions from Natasha Cloud, who contributed 21 points and a career-high 12 rebounds and 12 assists, earning her third double-double of the season. Kahleah Copper added 12 points, and Sophie Cunningham contributed 10 points to the Mercury’s balanced offensive attack.
