LOS ANGELES – Singer and songwriter Pink received the Legend of Live and Tour of the Year Award at the 2019 Billboard Live Music Summit on Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
Pink has not only chart topping hits, but is one today’s greatest tour performer of our generation.
“This particular award is very, very, very special to me…I have been touring for a long time, and from clubs to stadiums, I have realized that I would love to accept this award and put it down to my charm and wit and humor and parenting skills,” Pink explained on stage. “But it’s actually none of that. That wouldn’t be authentic for me. What it is in relationships.”
Pink also shared the moment with her long time manager Roger Davies.
“Roger is a master of connection. He is a visionary. He is brilliant. And he is good. He met me when I was 21, Mizzundastood was about to come out, I’m now 40…he listened to my ideas, and then he sat me down and said ‘you’re f—–g crazy, but it can be even better than you think. You just have to trust and work really f—–g hard.
“He convinced promoters such as one of the loves of my life, Barrie Marshall, to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars on me.”
