ANAHEIM, CA — A three-year process has finally come to fruition as one of the most exciting projects at the Disneyland Resort, the Pixar Place Hotel, has opened to guests, complete with a grand style opening ceremony featuring several Pixar characters under the warm California sun.
From the moment guests enter the hotel lobby, children and adults who are children at heart will be fascinated by Pixar stories such as “Finding Nemo,” “Inside Out,” “Soul,” and more, which are displayed throughout the hotel. The redesigned lobby is milestoned by a large sculpture of the iconic Pixar Lamp balancing atop its ball. Floating from the skylight above, a mobile represents the beginning stages of Pixar filmmaking – and guests’ stays – with character designs made of incredible shapes and colors.
Pixar Animation Studios artists created some of the art, especially for Pixar Place Hotel. Joe Gardner from the film “Soul” will be found playing the piano mostly on afternoons and evenings near the exquisite lobby staircase, interacting with guest as he plays songs from the beloved film.

Most of the hotel is open, as the north tower is still currently under construction and scheduled to be completed by Summer 2024 according to Pixar Place Hotel representative. The hotel will house a total of 479 rooms that include two new, two-bedroom themed signature suites, plus a new concierge lounge located on the second floor of the hotel. The suites have a balcony where guest can lay out and even venture to the pool area and fire pit lounges outside – Only the specific row of rooms that we toured on the third floor have the patio. The suites are absolutely outstanding and creates enough space for adults with children to share in the magical moments of the Pixar atmosphere.
The design of the pool area was theme for guests was inspired by “Finding Nemo” theme that includes cabanas, a water slide and water splash area where everyone can enjoy.
“We collaborated with the folks from Pixar to make the theme water slide and pool area as accurate as possible. We have very unique themed fixtures that look like seaweed. This whole area is an abstract look at a coral reef, yet we want it to be vibrant and colorful for guests,” said Brian Greene, Landscape Architect with Walt Disney.
Pool area and rooftop are also equipped with fire pits, and Small Bytes will be for all ages when it opens in March, where guests to watch the nightly Disneyland fireworks show with a spectacular view.
Pixar Place Hotel is among the many ways guests can experience Pixar storytelling across the Disneyland Resort. From April 26 through Aug. 4, 2024, the limited-time Pixar Fest celebration returns with the all-new “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” daytime parade at Disney California Adventure Park, heartwarming “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” at Disneyland Park across the resort and more.
The Great Maple restaurant on the ground floor serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Some dishes include buttermilk fried chicken, maple bacon doughnuts, Cajun shrimp, cheddar biscuit Benedict, and soda pop-braised baby back ribs. The flavor of the donut changes monthly, so guests are encouraged to visit the restaurant as often as possible. There is a merchandise store inside the hotel’s lobby area, “WALL-E,” the STOR-E that offers Pixar-themed apparel and toys, along with Disneyland memorabilia.
As Pixar continues to create more films, there have been discussions regarding some of the newer characters visiting the new facility in the future.
