LAS VEAGS, NV– Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Carl Nassib made a courageous announce via his social media regarding his lifestyle moving forward.
“I am gay and I’ve been meaning to do this for a while now and I finally feel comfortable enough to get it off my chest,” Nassib said via Instagram. “I really have the best life, I have the best family and friends and job a guy could ask for. I have the best job.”
Many NFL players around the league reached to Nassib to show their support of him and his announcement including NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
“I learned a long time ago what makes a man different is what makes him great,” Raiders head coach Jon Gruden said in response to Nassib’s announcement.
Nassib is the first active openly gay player in the NFL. His courage and strength are to celebrated and respected.
