THOUSAND OAKS, CA – A blockbuster move by the Los Angeles Rams sent shockwaves throughout the NFL circles, as the team announced they traded for the services of CB Jalen Ramsey for two number one draft picks (2020, 2021) and 2020 fourth round draft pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Ramsey appears to be excited to join the Rams and be in Los Angeles, which a far cry from a small town like Jacksonville.
“Big, big day for me,” Ramsey told Uninterrupted’s ’17 Weeks’ Podcast. “I’m currently just walking outside right now, I’m filled with joy, I’m overjoyed right now. God is the greatest, God makes no mistakes at all. No mistakes at all. I’ve been so blessed.”
Despite weeks of speculation of where the unhappy Ramsey would go and many offers that were displayed in public, general manager Les Snead had the right stuff and pulled the trigger on this deal with no hesitation.
“Now I’ve got a new chapter starting in my life, going out to L.A. and going to be a part of the L.A. Rams,” Ramsey said.
Head coach Sean McVay couldn’t wait for Ramsey’s arrival and discussed what he brings to the team.
“I spoke with him yesterday,” McVay said. “Excited to get him out here. He’s in the process of finalizing just getting out here and getting going. Very exciting thing for us. Obviously, you know the caliber of player that he is – the competitiveness, the toughness. Really, all the traits that you look for in a corner, and those are some of the things that are exciting about getting him in here.”
It would be ideal for Ramsey to play on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, but the team will make the best decision for the team and their newly acquired top notch cornerback.
“I think that we definitely want to have the intent to get him ready to go and we’ll always make smart decisions,” McVay said. ”But, yes, that’s the goal and we’ll figure out if that ends up coming to fruition or not.”
Ramsey at his introductory press conference on Wednesday afternoon at the Rams Training Facility stressed the fact of how much he wanted to make strong first impression amongst his team.

“Just being a good teammate by my actions, really,” Ramsey explained. “Supporting them, going out there on the field, giving it my all, letting them see how I play.”
Despite some reports, Ramsey is focused on being the best Rams player possible for the rest of the season and next season. But from the sound of it, Ramsey could be a Ram for the foreseeable future.
“Coach Wade Phillips, coach Sean McVay, coach Aubrey Pleasant, and I’m excited to get out there and do my thing for the LA Rams and show them that they’ve got the best corner in the whole NFL for years and years to come.”
